Kids Are Resilient - Dads Not So Much

Aiden will have to wait atleast one more season to experience his first Stanley Cup Championship. What an incredible finish to a great series of hockey. A crossbar and one incredible save in the final minute leaves the Wings one win away... as much as I would have preferred a different outcome (and not losing my satellite signal for 15 minutes of the final period), it was great to see a young Penguins team rejuvinate the sport. I'm not a superstitious guy - but the Wings lost all 3 of the games I woke up at 3am to watch... I'm not sure what is better - to watch good hockey and have my team lose the Cup, or not watch my team win a Championship.

Fortunately Aiden is too young to realize just how hard it is for a team to get to the Finals... plenty of time to see the Wings hoist the cup for his generation.

Always next season...

3 Months Old

Yesterday was Aiden's 3 month birthday. It's incredible how quickly the months seem to be going by - almost as quickly as our little man is growing. We grabbed a few candid pictures to commemorate his big milestone... hopefully the Redwings can give him a belated B-day gift tonight in Game 7.

Loves his birthday gift - Superman PJs, a rare find in Doha!

Really starting to love his blankets (especially his custom tag blanket from mom)

Starting to prefer his fingers to his pacifier

Aiden and his girlfriend on their mall date!

The best part of hitting 3 months is that we'll be celebrating his 4 month birthday back in the USA, only 3 weeks 'til wheels up! Can't wait.

Bear Down Baby

Thanks to the Kirkman family our little guy is making John Button proud - Bear Down Wildcats... let's build on last year's bowl victory with a strong showing in 2009! Even if you're not a Wildcat fan, I'm sure you can appreciate the captions.

'Bear Down Aiden'

'UofA in the front / Party in the back'

'Just glad those eyebrows on our team'

PS Keep your eyes on Tuesday night's Stanley Cup game - repeat in the making... could be Aiden's first Stanley Cup celebration.
